The Medium Monotub is a streamlined, mid-sized solution for cultivators who want professional-grade results in a manageable format. With a 44-quart capacity, it's the ideal balance of volume and footprint—large enough for significant yields, yet compact enough to fit on standard shelves or grow racks.
Constructed from super-dense, injection-molded polypropylene, this monotub is built to last through multiple grow cycles without warping or cracking. The outer dimensions measure 18" L x 15.5" W x 12" H, giving it a wide, stable base and excellent airflow circulation across the substrate surface.
Equipped with six strategically placed air exchange holes, the tub promotes balanced FAE (Fresh Air Exchange) to support healthy mycelium and mushroom development. Included plugs offer control over airflow, allowing growers to fine-tune conditions during colonization or other sensitive stages.
A custom-fit liner is included to reduce side pinning, streamline cleanup, and keep your substrate contained during fruiting. The stackable design with reinforced lid and base supports up to 10 tubs securely, making this a space-efficient choice for scaling your operation.

The Medium Monotub is designed for ease of use at every stage of the mushroom growing process. Begin by mixing your fully colonized grain spawn with a pasteurized bulk substrate and filling the tub to a depth of 3–4 inches. The included drop-in liner keeps your substrate neatly contained and helps prevent contamination and side pinning.
For colonization, insert the airflow plugs to retain humidity and block contaminants. Once the substrate is fully colonized (typically 10–14 days), remove the plugs to allow passive airflow through the pre-drilled holes. If needed, you can cover or partially block holes to adjust humidity and gas exchange depending on the strain and environmental conditions.
Maintain room temperature between 70–75°F (21–24°C) and provide 12 hours of indirect or LED lighting per day to promote fruiting. Lightly mist the tub walls if necessary to maintain high humidity, and avoid spraying directly onto the mycelium. In most cases, no fanning is required due to the tub’s optimized airflow design.
Expect healthy pinsets within 5–10 days of initiating fruiting conditions, with full flushes shortly after.
After harvesting your mushrooms, maintaining a clean tub is essential for future successful grows. To clean the Medium Monotub, first remove and discard the spent substrate and liner. Rinse the tub thoroughly with warm water to clear debris, then wipe down all surfaces with unscented dish soap or a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.
Avoid abrasive scrubbing to maintain the clarity and structural integrity of the plastic. Do not use bleach unless absolutely necessary, as it may degrade the material over time. Rinse well and dry with a clean cloth or let air dry.
Inspect the airflow plugs and filters (if applicable) for wear, and replace as needed. Between uses, store the monotub in a dry, cool place, ideally with the lid clipped in place to keep out dust and contaminants.
Thanks to its durable, reusable construction, this monotub is built to support multiple cycles of high-yield cultivation with minimal effort.
