The 28-Quart Monotub is a compact, efficient grow chamber designed for cultivators who want reliable performance in a smaller footprint. Ideal for beginners, small-batch growers, or those working with space constraints, this monotub delivers excellent surface area for fruiting while remaining easy to handle and store.
Made from super-dense polypropylene, the tub is built to last through multiple grow cycles, resisting warping, cracking, and humidity-related wear. Measuring 12" L x 12" W x 12" H, its cube-like shape optimizes surface area while maintaining manageable volume—perfect for testing new genetics, cultivating specialty strains, or maintaining a steady small-scale harvest.
Equipped with four strategically placed air exchange holes, the tub supports balanced fresh air exchange for healthy mycelium and mushroom development. Each hole includes a removable plug, allowing for full airflow control during incubation, consolidation, and fruiting stages.
The included drop-in liner hugs the substrate closely, minimizing side pinning and making post-harvest cleanup quick and sanitary. A stackable lid-and-base design allows you to safely stack multiple units, maximizing vertical space in grow rooms, closets, or tents.
The 28-Quart Monotub is designed to offer the same growing success as larger tubs, but in a more compact, efficient format. Start by filling the liner with a mixture of colonized grain spawn and pasteurized bulk substrate. Level the mixture evenly across the base to a depth of 2–4 inches, ensuring full surface coverage.
During colonization, keep all air exchange holes sealed with the included plugs to retain warmth and CO₂. Once the substrate is fully colonized (usually after 10–12 days), remove the plugs and apply the adhesive filter disks to allow passive gas exchange. This shift initiates the fruiting stage, where humidity and airflow are balanced naturally through the filter-covered holes.
Maintain ambient temperatures around 70–75°F (21–24°C) and provide a 12-hour light cycle using indirect sunlight or a 6500K daylight bulb. Misting is typically unnecessary unless your space is particularly dry; when needed, only mist the inner tub walls to preserve humidity.
Pins should begin forming within 5–7 days of introducing fresh air, with full flushes maturing shortly after.
Keeping the 28-Quart Monotub clean between cycles ensures long-term use and reduces contamination risks. After harvesting, remove the liner with the spent substrate and discard both responsibly.
Rinse the tub thoroughly with warm water to remove residual debris, then clean with a gentle, unscented dish soap or a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Avoid using abrasive materials or bleach, which can weaken the plastic and cloud its clarity.
Inspect the filter disks and plugs before reusing them. Replace any that appear damaged, moldy, or discolored to maintain proper airflow and hygiene. Once clean, allow the tub to air dry completely or towel-dry it with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Store the tub in a cool, dry area with the lid clipped in place to prevent dust buildup and warping. Thanks to its tough build and compact design, this monotub is ideal for long-term, repeated use in any home grow setup.
