Instructions for Use
Preparation:
- Sanitize Your Workspace: Clean all surfaces with disinfectant and wear gloves and a mask to avoid contamination.
- Prepare Substrate: King Oysters perform best on sterilized hardwood sawdust blocks, supplemented sawdust, or pasteurized straw. Ensure the substrate is clean and cooled.
Inoculation Steps:
- Shake the Syringe: Gently shake to evenly distribute the King Oyster mycelium in the liquid.
- Attach the Needle: Remove the syringe cap and securely attach the sterile needle.
- Sterilize the Injection Point: Use the alcohol prep pad to clean the inoculation site on jars, bags, or containers.
- Inject the Liquid Culture: Slowly inject 1-2 ml of liquid culture per jar, bag, or inoculation point.
- Seal and Incubate: Close the container or bag and place it in a clean, dark area at 65°F - 75°F (18°C - 24°C) for colonization.
Colonization Period:
- Allow 14-21 days for full colonization.
- Monitor for healthy, white mycelial growth spreading throughout the substrate.
- Discard any substrate showing contamination, such as odd colors or foul odors.
Storage Instructions
- Short-term: Store the syringe in a refrigerator at 35°F - 41°F (2°C - 5°C). Use within 2-3 months for best results.
- Long-term: Avoid freezing, as freezing damages the mycelium.
