An all-in-one mushroom grow bag combines sterilized grain and bulk substrate in a single filter-patch bag, so you can inoculate, colonize, and fruit in the same container with almost no transfers. Fewer transfers means fewer chances for contamination, which makes all-in-one bags the easiest starting point for first-time growers.
Our all-in-one grow bags come pre-loaded with a sterilized sorghum grain and substrate blend and a built-in filter patch for gas exchange. You inoculate through the injection port with a liquid culture or spore syringe, and the bag handles the rest, with no separate sterilization or mixing required.
After inoculation, keep the bag warm and undisturbed while the mycelium colonizes the grain and then the substrate. When it is fully colonized, introduce fresh air and light, cut or fold open the top, and fruit directly from the bag. Because everything stays sealed until fruiting, there is no need to mix grain spawn into separate bulk substrate yourself.
Grow bags come in a few forms, and it helps to know which you are buying. All-in-one bags are pre-filled and ready to inoculate. Plain autoclavable filter-patch bags, by contrast, are empty and meant for sterilizing your own grain or bulk substrate: useful once you scale up, but a different workflow. For most beginners the pre-filled all-in-one is the fastest path from injection to harvest, with no pressure cooker and no open transfers.
All-in-one bags trade some yield and reusability for simplicity. If you want larger harvests and plan to grow regularly, compare them with a monotub setup, which uses more substrate and a few more steps for bigger, repeated flushes. You can also treat a spent bag as colonized spawn and break it into a larger tub of bulk substrate to scale up a successful grow. New to cultivation?
